CanadaQBank gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself against other users by taking tests in timed mode. Your results will reveal how well you performed when compared to all users who took tests with a similar combination of questions.
CanadaQBank has created a feature within each MCQ that allows you to place the selected question in a separate section for future reference and revision. This feature is called "My Questions" and with it you can add a particular MCQ to your selected list of questions that can be reviewed at a later stage.
You can add your own notes inside each MCQ and review them at a later stage. This makes the learning process more interesting and allows you to review your own notes during revisions.
In fact you can take the "notes" feature one step further. Create your notes within the MCQ and then add the MCQ to the "My Questions" section. These questions with notes can be reviewed on a separate section of the user interface. This creates a highly impressive overall customization and greatly enhances your quality of learning.
Everybody has to start somewhere. Perhaps you are a medical student starting your preparation early or a well experienced physician who has lost touch with academics. You can now start with the "Easy" level of questions and then gradually work your way up to the "Medium" and "Hard" difficulty levels.
Learning moods will vary from time to time. Which means that you may need to introduce variety into your learning regimen. So rather than using the typical test mode, you can use the "topics mode" and master one topic at a time. The ultimate goal is to keeping moving forward regardless of your learning style. The topics mode helps you move ahead one small step at a time.
The PLAB (Professional Linguistics Assessment Board) is taken globally by people who want to be licensed as physicians in the United Kingdom. The test evaluates your ability to be a house officer at the senior level in the United Kingdom National Health Service or a trainee in the second year of the Foundation Programme.
You could write this test if you are a registered medical doctor from any country not in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.
The PLAB test generally covers all the typical conditions you could experience as a trainee in the second year of the Foundational Programme. Also, you should know that the PLABs are split into two parts - PLAB Part 1 and PLAB Part 2. However, we will focus only the PLAB 1 here.
This is the first test you'll take for the PLABs. This exam contains 180 MCQs that you have to answer in three hours. Each question has around five potential answers, and you have to choose what you think the most correct answer is.
For each answer you get right, you get one mark. There is no negative marking, and the pass mark differs from year to year but is typically between 120 and 126.
The PLAB Part 1 can be written in a lot of countries outside the United Kingdom, such as India, Spain, South Africa, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and Ghana.
You have four tries for PLAB Part 1. After the fourth try, you must wait for a minimum of 12 months before you can apply again.
If you fail again after the fourth try you may not be able to take the PLAB Part 1 anymore. However, you can theoretically try for the sixth time but on special request.
Before you even consider writing the PLAB Part 1, you must fulfill certain requirements:
The first thing you have to do is create an account on GMC. After you complete the registration of the account, you then schedule your PLAB Part 1 exam based on your country of choice, this costs around £240. Note that the PLAB Part 2 charges around £840.
The PLAB Part 1 is written in several countries worldwide. So, if you do not reside in the UK, ensure to contact the British Council in the country you want to write the exam. This is to confirm the exact location you take the exam.
To learn more about PLAB take a trip down to CanadaQBank.
At CanadaQBank there are numerous educational resources you can use to prepare for your PLAB Part 1. There are over 3,000 MCQs you can choose from. What's even better is that these MCQs cover different parts of medicine like Pediatrics, Emergency Medical, Respiratory Medicine, and General Surgery.
