My name is Philip and I'm a medical graduate who recently took the MCCQE1 with a pass on the first attempt. I found the Canada QBank far more accessible, cost friendly, and in many ways more versatile than the UWorld Q-Banks for Step 1, 2, or 3. Benefits include not losing your note cards the moment your subscription expires, the ability to retake specific tests, the flash cards included and available again, beyond your subscription date, and a few other key features. There's a good bit of detail on explanations, rapid response to emails regarding content, and overall responsiveness from the staff that make this a very productive source. For anyone planning on taking a medical exam, I'd recommend doing a cycle of this at least once. Oh, my score was a 241.

I am an internationally trained family physician from the Philippines and have completed my residency training in December 2020. Before moving to Canada in 2022, I worked for 1 year. Currently, I am in Canada working as a medical assistant. With the rapid changes in the healthcare system here in Canada, they have been more open to accepting foreign-trained doctors. This opportunity motivated me to pursue my licensure to practice here in Canada. I decided to sit the MCCQE 1 on October 23, 2023. I enrolled in an online crash course plus did some practice tests with CanadaQBank. What I like about CanadaQbank is that you can customize the question set depending on which topic you are working on. This will gauge your knowledge of a specific topic and help you improve in the areas you struggle with. I also like the detailed explanation of each question after the review test - this helped a lot. With this formula, I passed the exam in 10 weeks of preparation, which is less than 3 months. I was really happy that I passed one exam leading to practicing as a doctor here in Canada.

I had graduated in 2019 in Hungary - back then I was planning on applying for either CARMS or the NRMP Match or both but then COVID happened. It completely derailed my plans - so I started doing a Family Medicine residency just so that I start something. Eventually I decided I would stick with it and just this november I completed it. In the meantime I decided to finally put my plans into action and start prepping for MCCQE Part 1. After a some searches I found that alongside an american question bank, the most recommended Canadian source was CanadaQBank. So I decided to buy it. The question formats, the content, the explanations were all very helpful and I thought that some questions were actually very similiar to the ones on my actual exam. Despite all of this, I thought I was going to fail as the write-in part was extremely different and the questions, in my opinion, asked for extremely nuanced information especially when it comes to Obs/Gyn and Peds. But then it turns out I did well enough to pass just a bit above average even. I owe much thanks to the expansive CanadaQBank for MCCQE Part 1. I firmly believe that it helped tremendously and especially as it covered Canadian specific content and had Canadian specific guidelines. THANK YOU CANADAQBANK!

I studied medicine in Nigeria and graduated in 2002. I have been working as a General Practitioner in United Kingdom for the last 13 years. I initially joined CanadaQBank 6 months before my exams but started serious studying with it 10 weeks before the exam. CanadaQBank helped refresh my medical knowledge, brought me up to speed with applied clinical knowledge for practicing medicine in Canada. The explanations were adequately detailed in a way that is easy to remember. These were laid out in such a way that helps recollection and useful to answer other related questions. The timed practice helped me build my stamina for sitting the long exam. It also helped me learn to manage my time with the questions. These were very beneficial when I sat the exam. Although some of the questions were quite long, I couldn't have been ready for the exam without the practice I did with CanadaQBank. The CanadaQbank videos were great for learning on the go and the explanations were so easy to follow and understand. The diagrams and illustrations were great for a visual learner like me. I was extremely delighted when I got my result and I passed well.

I am a radiologist with more than 15 yers of experience in the field. I had the opportunity to work in Canada and I wanted to take the Canadian medical qualification for the job proposal. CanadaQBank was an amazing source for my studies. I used it everyday, ranging from 4 - 8 hours per day of study, during 2 months. Since the beginning I tested myself for both multiple choice questions (50/day) and clinical decision making questions (30/day). I focused my studies in doing a large amount of questions in a short time, I was not worried specifically with the performance itself. When I felt I needed more explanation in some topic, I used other sources like books and lectures, however, my main source (like 95%) was only the CanadianQBank repository. I avoided to waste time with other sources because I believe CanadianQBank prepares us for the exam with all its particularities such as timing controlling, sharp thinking and clinical decision making in a way that others sources wouldn't be able to provide. I do think it is the most important question bank for the MCCQEs and also sufficient for this matter.

I graduated from Pakistan in 2013 as an MD and moved to Canada in 2016. In the same year when I landed, I wrote my MCCEE exam using Toronto notes and canadaqbank. The questions not only helped me to remember the key points, but also gave me an insight of how the MCC questions can be. Recently I passed my MCCQE1 using the same qbank and study resources and I cannot express my gratitude to the team of Canadaqbank for being so supportive throughout the journey. They will pause your subscription whenever you want to, they will refund you if needed, they will answer questions and respond in timely manner. Overall I recommend canadaqbank because of the vast variety of questions covering several topics and specialties.

This was all the resources I used. I was time-poor with lots of commitment and really did not go through the entire resource but it was more than enough. The exam was covered thoroughly by the CanadaQbank questions and I would not recommend bothering to use anything else. I am sure if I had put in more effort I could have done way better. In real-time I must have used Qbank for less than 3 months, having purchased them extended when I had not utilized it and then working nearly full on ( 6 hrs most days) I was not at work for about 10 weeks before exams. Thanks, guys PS do remove old YouTube videos, that have duplicates.

I'm a Canadian-born medical student. I didn't have much experience before besides a bachelor in a STEM field. As a fourth year medical student preparing for the LMCC, I used CanadaQBank to help me familiarize myself with the type of questions the exam could ask and how to think in that way again. It was a great revision tool as the questions cover a large spectrum of subjects and the detailed explanations per question were also a good help. They were to the point and concise. It has certainly contributed to my success of the exam and I'm quite happy with it. I probably used it for about 30 min each day up until the last month/weeks before the exam where I would use it for a couple of hours per day. I highly recommend it as a study tool!

Hi, I´m a general practitioner from Mexico. I moved to Canada last year, but I graduated Med school in 2019. After graduating, I have had many jobs, but my real focus was on neurology. I started studying for the MCCQE1 Exam in September of 2022 using Toronto Notes, but mostly I used CanadaQBank to help me to study. It was difficult to study because I was dealing with many things in that time. I wrote the exam the first time in February 2023, but sadly was 17 points short of passing. My second attempt was in May(I studied 50 days), this time I passed. I believe the difference this time was that I read through all of the Toronto Notes, ethics from CMPA and doing all of the questions from CanadaQBank.

Hello, My name is Guilherme I´m a physician in Brazil and MSc in cardiogenetics. Since 2017 I have been planning to do my residency in Canada, so I planned my self to do MCCQE1 and NAC OSCE. In 2022 by the end of my internship, I started studying to do the exam, I was studying 4 hours daily, using flashcards, and different Qbanks, however, I was worried about how the exam would be like. For this reason, I signed CanadaQbank because it was a dedicated Qbank for the MCCQE1. I enjoyed a lot studying with it! The format of the questions is similar to the actual exam, it makes you familiar with the units they use and the best part is the short answers question because there is no other Q bank that I know that helps you prepare for this type of questions. In September last year, I performed the MCCQEI and got a pass with a very good performance, p90! I feel very confident that CanadaQbank helped me to this success!

I was fortunate enough to have studied medicine in one of the best medical programmes in Africa at the University of Cape Town. It is a six year programme and provides one with all the exposure that a medical doctor working in South Africa requires - ranging from the PHC clinic to quaternary facilities. I graduated in 2021 and am currently a second year intern. CanadaQBank was extremely useful to me on my journey to writing the MCCQE Part 1 because it gave me insight into what is emphasised for doctors practising in Canada and which healthcare issues are considered most important in the Canadian environment. It also allowed me to study on the go as I was able to do the tests and review the answers when I had breaks while at work. With the help of CanadaQBank I managed to pass the MCCQE Part 1 on my first attempt. I am ecstatic that I have passed and am one step closer to forming part of the Canadian healthcare system.

I used CanadaQBank for 6-8 months, mostly 30-60 minutes/ day, completed all the questions and repeated those I got wrong the first time, I passed on my first attempt I loved the explanation section for both the MCQs and CDMs, had a free trial of other question banks but I found the CanadaQBank far better and I learned so much from the detailed answers, it is possibly tougher than the actual exam, the ethics and communication questions are most relevant to the actual exam

We recently graduated medical school and I am just starting as a fresh PGY1 resident in Canada. Recently, I got the e-mail that we at last had our result for the MCCQE (part 1) that we wrote several months ago. I had spent about a month solid studying with CanadaQBank as it was much more affordable than some of the other options. I appreciated how difficult the practice questions were on CanadaQBank. It was frustrating at first as I began scoring around 50% and sometimes even lower. A lot of the material I learned through CanadaQBank was never covered in medical school, like treatment for suspected rabies for example. At first I was worried that I would never learn all the material, but there were great explanations after each question that I got wrong and even short and very concise videos on most topics with just enough information to fill a flash card. After dozens of practice tests, and weeks of pouring over my flash cards, I slowly climbed to the high 60%'s. There are loads of options to adjust the scope and difficulty of your practice tests, but I left everything broad and difficult to prepare me for the real exam. The day of the exam, my head was packed with knowledge and I was very prepared to write the big test! I am very pleased to be finished with the score well above the passing grade. Nothing could stop me now and I have all the momentum I need to impress my preceptors my PGY1 year! Thanks, CanadaQBank!

I am an IMG from the Philippines and I took and passed my MCCQE1 exams last October 2022. I used the Canada QBank for 6 months to prepare for the exam and I felt that it was almost similar to the way the exams are formatted (at a more affordable price) and questions are short and easy to understand. Thus, it was a good way to practice for the exam and the supplementary reading material discussing the answers and the videos also helped me to understand some of the topics more easily.

  • SOUTH AFRICA

I am a South African graduate from University of Cape Town who qualified in 1994, a family physician in private practice for 26 years. I was quite anxious about writing the MCCQE1, but was recommended to CanadaQBank by a friend and colleague who had passed on her first attempt 3 years ago. The site is thorough and well organised. I did all 3300 of the multiple choice questions, and all 366 of the CDM Clinical Decision Making cases which comprise 1000 questions – once right through. Ideally, I would have liked to do them a second time, but a busy work schedule did not allow. I spent 5 months studying in the evenings after work, and on weekends when I could. I made comprehensive notes from the explanations provided, which I have found invaluable to refer back to. I was not able to save/store the information in any other way except by hand, as the site does not allow copy-pasting for obvious copyright reasons. I started studying on the QBank by initially generating random tests in one subject at a time, for example Internal Medicine, but I soon found what was best to cover a given topic most thoroughly was to select all questions in one topic off the provided list, which I found best for learning and note-making. I made my own reference index of these, so my CanadaQBank study notebooks can be used again by other family members of mine who also intend to write. I supplemented my studies somewhat with Toronto Notes reading, but actually in retrospect realize that in most cases, the relevant info was contained in the explanatory notes that accompanied each question by CanadaQBank themselves, so additional reading was not really required much. I would highly recommend that the CDM questions ALL be done – do NOT omit these for lack of time, as they are invaluable. The exam format was not identical, but the content is covered decently, and there is much to be gained by completing them. I was quite anxious about these exams as I qualified so many years ago, but to my surprise I passed on my first attempt by a solid margin, with a mark I was quite satisfied with. I am not sure what my centile was, but judging from what see on other testimonials online, my pass of 265 I assume placed me around the 70th. I am thrilled with my pass and very grateful for the help to all the many contributors who have taken time to compile the information on the site, and to their helpful email desk.
